Standing Seam RoofsStanding Seam roofs at Storage Pro are roofs most often found on retail or office buildings. Many non Class 'A' storage facilities or shops have roofs known as 'mechanical roofs' with grommets drilled throughout the roof attaching the roof to the frame of the building. The problem with this construction in Grande Prairie's climate is with the heat/cold cycle the roof expands and contracts and over time creates 'slot's' where the grommets go through the roof. Such a roof will shed water however will not be water proof when water backs up on the roof due to major rains, ice dams at eaves etc. The Standing Seam roof uses clips below the roof panels to attach the roof to the structure. There are no holes through the roof itself. Our units do not leak. |
